What it is
Most ad blockers either nuke everything and break pages — so you turn them off — or only hide banner ads. QuickerBlock leads with the stuff that actually ruins browsing: the popups, popunders, click-hijacking, and forced redirects on sites where every click spawns two or three ad tabs.
It kills those, blocks ad servers and trackers underneath, and does it all without breaking the page or the video you're watching. Nothing about your browsing ever leaves your device.
What you get
- Popup & hijack guard. Collapses the “2–3 ad tabs per click” storm to the one window you meant, restores hijacked links, and closes popunders — while leaving real logins and “open in new tab” untouched.
- ~165,000 blocking rules across ads, trackers, and annoyances — video-safety checked, so a media request is only ever blocked for a known ad host, never your video.
- Reader mode (Alt+R) — a clean, distraction-free article view with adjustable type.
- Theater mode (Alt+Z) — dims the page and fills the screen with the main video, on any site.
- One switch per site — On, a “Lighter” mode that fixes a broken page while keeping popup protection, or Off.
Install
- Download the latest release and unzip it.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin Chrome. - Turn on Developer mode (top-right).
- Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder.
- Pin the ⚡ icon — you're protected.

QuickerBlock collects nothing. There is no analytics, no account, and no remotely-fetched code — every block list ships inside the extension. The counts you see stay on your device.
